All Pets Veterinary Clinic

The concept of pet insurance is not new. The oldest national pet insurance company
has been providing coverage for dogs and cats for over 20 years. What is new is
the number of people that are seeking out coverage for their pets. Our clinic,
as well as others, has been seeing an increase in the number of pets that are
covered by national policies.

Pet insurance is a win-win situation. Veterinary clinics win because they are
able to offer and provide the best health care (diagnostics and treatments) for
sick or injured animals without as much consideration to cost. Pet owners win
because they are able to afford better and higher quality health care for their

Insurance coverage will vary by company so be sure to check the specific details
at the links below. Most plans will have some sort of deductible (typically $25-$100)
and will cover 80% of subsequent costs up to a maximum amount. Most companies
will provide coverage for illnesses and injuries. Additional coverage for routine
care and preventative services, including vaccinations, spay/neutering, dentistry,
parasite medications, etc., is often available. As with human insurance, many pre-
existing problems are often excluded for coverage.

For more information, check out the links below. We currently have pets insured
by Veteriary Pet Insurance, Premier Pet Insurance, and Pets Health Care Plan. All
three of these companies seem to be reputable and easy to deal with. Overall, our
clients seem pleased with their coverage aside for two incidents. First, we have
one incident of a pet with a serious, chronic medical condition that was dropped by
Premier. The condition started after the policy was in effect and was covered
initially. Second, we have an incident of a pet being declined for additional coverage
for a chronic back problem. Early episodes of the back problem were covered but the
company will not cover any additional problems associated with this same injury.
